Celebrate two decades of Bloc Party's debut studio album Silent Alarm with this definitive deluxe edition. The box set includes the original album over two discs plus an additional 2LP featuring rare demos, B-sides, and live session recordings. Also included is a 24-page booklet filled with never-before-seen personal photos of the band and exclusive liner notes, including a foreword by Paul Epworth.
Recorded in Copenhagen and London in mid-2004 with Epworth as producer, Silent Alarm was released on February 2, 2005, by Wichita Recordings. The album peaked at No. 3 on the U.K. Albums Chart. In the United States, it entered the Billboard 200 at No. 114 and the Billboard Independent Albums chart at No. 7. "Helicopter," the double A-side "So Here We Are/Positive Tension," "Banquet" and "The Pioneers" were released as singles. Silent Alarm went on to achieve worldwide sales of more than 1 million copies.
