Indigo De Souza — Precipice

There are moments standing on a high ledge where wild space beckons. In that moment, instinct stirs: "What if I just jumped?" It's been described as "the call of the void," an experience somehow more primal than even feeling or urge.

On her new album Precipice (Loma Vista Recordings), Indigo De Souza looks over the creative and spiritual cliff and leaps, taking control of difficult memories and charged emotions via pop bombast and diaristic clarity, and finding a stronger self through the journey.

Her new track from the album, "Heartthrob," was written as a way to help process difficult times in her life, De Souza says. 

"I wrote "Heartthrob" as a way to help process something that is often hard to talk about — the harmful ways I've been taken advantage of in my physical memory. "Heartthrob" is about harnessing anger, and turning it into something powerful and embodied. It's about taking back my body and my experience. It's a big fuck you to the abusers of the world. A sarcastic, angry cry for all bodies that have ever been touched in harmful ways."
