Grammy-winning pop star and "Royals" singer Lorde presents her fourth studio album, Virgin. Out June 27, 2025 Virgin is described by Lorde as "100% written in blood." These details, along with the cover art of the LP, were shared on Lorde's website. The album artwork is a blue-tinted x-ray of a pelvis with a zipper going down the middle, a belt buckle in the center and the outline of an IUD.

The 11 track record was co-produced by Lorde and Jim-E Stack. It was written with Grammy producer of the Year Dan Nigro (Chappell Roan/ Olivia Rodrigo), Blood Orange's Devonté Hynes, Fabiana Palladino, Andrew Aged and Buddy Ross. The first released single from the album "What Was That" features a music video stitched together using clips of Lorde and her fans at a pop-up appearence at Washington Square Park in New York on April 23 where she premiered the song.

In a voice note that hinted at her long-awaited return to music after her last album, Solar Power, Lorde said, "everything is about to change." She continued, "These are the last moments where it's just us, which is crazy. But so right. I'm so ready."
