I can't say I love this. The music is as good as ever but this cut is kind of a mess. Stick with your old CDs. Probably one of the quietest albums I have ever heard, you have to really turn it up to get things to open up. Doing that reveals the terrible noise floor and sibilance of this record. While this might be a concession to the dynamic range of this recording, I cant help but think there might be better ways to serve this music than to err on the side of very quiet. Everything about this record screams cheap. The cover has been scaled down to a basic sleeve omitting the old die cut one and there is another of these "we cut this on thin vinyl because it is better" notes on the inner sleeve. While heavier vinyl is not demonstrably better than heavy (this disc does not feel particularly flimsy though), if sound quality is the goal, spend your money on a better mastering job (is this even a new master?) and pressing.
