Widely regarded as "one of the best songwriters of her generation" (Rolling Stone), singer-songwriter and guitarist Lucy Dacus returns with Forever Is A Feeling. Following a career-defining run with boygenius that earned her three Grammy Awards, her fourth solo studio album explores falling in and out of love, the tumult of desire, and larger than life romance.

Across 13 tracks that range from lush arrangements to simple declarations, Dacus makes a serious inquiry into what it looks like to dedicate one's life to true love, and a valiant attempt to capture the elusive, fleeting feeling of forever.

Dacus wrote Forever Is a Feeling between 2022 and 2024, focusing on themes of adulthood, romance, and sexuality. Notably, the tracklist boasts contributions from Hozier, Phoebe Bridgers, Julien Baker, Blake Mills, Bartees Strange, Madison Cunningham, Collin Pastore, Jake Finch, and Melina Duterte.

"I got kicked in the head with emotions... Falling in love, falling out of love," Dacus said of the record's origins. "You have to destroy things in order to create things. And I did destroy a really beautiful life."

Two new singles from the album showcase Dacus' new era, which features lush production and her characteristically personal lyrics. "Ankles," for instance, is a string-backed, love-sick indie bop that delves into romantic and sexual longing.

Since releasing her 2021 album, Home Video, Dacus has been focused on boygenius, her group with Phoebe Bridgers and Julien Baker. Most recently, the trio followed their Grammy-winning debut album, the record, with a 2023 EP titled the rest.
