Because Sound Matters' meticulous One-Step process creates the definitive sounding audiophile version of Green Day's Dookie. Spread across four sides at 45 RPM from the original analog master tapes, Dookie has never sounded better!
Green Day's third album, Dookie, was originally released February 1, 1994 and was their major label debut. It was their first collaboration with producer Rob Cavallo. The release has gone on to sell more than 30 million copies worldwide and is one of the best-selling albums of all time! Dookie is considered one of, if not the, greatest Punk
Rock album of all time! Dookie had four successful singles: "Longview," "Basket Case," "Welcome To Paradise," and "When I Come Around." Dookie won a Grammy Award in 1995 for Alternative Album of the Year and peaked at No. 2 in the U.S. on the Billboard Top 200 Chart.
This One-Step version is strictly limited to 3,000 copies. The album is housed inside a top quality, foil-stamped, uniquely designed numbered slipcase. The enclosed gatefold double LP will feature an "Old Style" double gatefold tip-on jacket with original artwork. Special care has been taken to faithfully preserve the original sound with exceptional clarity and depth, capturing the recording's nuances and subtleties at every step to create the best sounding record possible.
Dookie was recorded and mixed on analog tape. The original analog master tapes were directly used as our audio source for this One-Step pressing. We also expanded the recording to a double LP at 45 RPM for maximum sound quality! We used Neotech VR900-D2 180g High-Performance vinyl compound which is the same as what is known as Super Vinyl or Clarity Vinyl — the best in the world.
The One-Step process is highly regarded among audiophiles and collectors for its unparalleled sound fidelity and represents the pinnacle of vinyl manufacturing craftsmanship.
