Harlequin is the new album from 13-time GRAMMY and Academy Award-winner Lady Gaga. Available on red vinyl. Harlequin is Lady Gaga's latest project, serving as a companion album to Joker: Folie à Deux, the highly anticipated film sequel starring Joaquin Phoenix, reprising his role as the Joker, and Lady Gaga as Harley Quinn.

Far from a typical pop album release, Harlequin is a concept album delivered from the warped perspective of Lee Quinzel, a.k.a. Harley Quinn, her character in film director Todd Phillips' Joker-fied jukebox musical. The movie has drawn negative reviews; the album is a beautifully sung jazz album — combining equal parts Joker companion piece and covers of classic showtunes and pop standards, with a pair of original songs Gaga wrote specifically for the album to round the whole thing out.

Gaga manages to turn even some of the most beloved pop classics in American culture into fresh reincarnations. Ending with a cover of Sinatra's "That's Life," Gaga performs at her best on this track, rivaling the original. Reviews have dubbed Harlequin some of Gaga's best work ever.

Harlequin debuted at No. 1 on both Billboard's Jazz Albums and Traditional Jazz Albums charts, as of Oct. 12, 2024. The album earned 25,000 equivalent album units in the U.S., in the week ending Oct. 3. Of that sum, 16,000 are traditional album sales. 

Equivalent album units comprise album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA).

Gaga previously topped both rankings with her collaborative albums with Tony Bennett: Love for Sale (in 2021) and Cheek to Cheek (2014).

Harlequin also debuted at No. 20 on the overall Billboard 200 and No. 3 on both Vinyl Albums and Top Album Sales.
