Their second of four No. 1 albums in a row!

Includes the hit title track "Deliver The Word"

"War delivered their sixth album Deliver The Word, in fall 1973. A smooth blend of the band's more progressive jazz-rock fusion, the LP shot to the top of the R&B charts, their second of four number one records in a row.... An outstanding album split between War's two definitive styles, Deliver the Word ultimately delivers a vibe, a groove, and an intent that are hard to resist." — AllMusic

There is no denying the place WAR holds in American music, notes American Songwriter. The LA-based band's sound — an amalgam of Latin, jazz, pop, world, funk, soul, and rock — remains distinctive and influential today. They were one of the most innovative of the ‘70s West Coast acts and as 50th anniversaries go, WAR surely ranks as important enough to celebrate.

Deliver The Word is the sixth album by WAR, released in 1973 on United Artists Records. The album featured two singles, "Gypsy Man" (severely truncated from the 11 minute album version) backed with "Deliver the Word" (U.S. No. 8), and "Me and Baby Brother" backed with "In Your Eyes" (U.S. No. 15). A live version of "Me and Baby Brother" had been released previously on All Day Music (1971). The title "H2Overture" is a pun on H2O, the chemical formula for water.
