John Coltrane - Blue Train

The Classic Hybrid DVD Audio Disc (HDAD) is a two-sided DVD disc with 24/192 PCM data playable on DVD Audio players on one side, and 24/96 PCM data playable on DVD Video players on the other side. The Classic HDAD is a truly universal DVD disc playable on all DVD players. So if you have a DVD video player, you can play the DVD Video side of the HDAD - insert the disc with the Blue center ring facing up and enjoy 24/96 playback resolution. On a DVD Audio player, simply flip the disc over with the Red ring facing up and enjoy 24/192 playback resolution.

John Coltrane, a saxophonist whose technical prowess freed him to play as many as a thousand notes a minute turns in dazzling variations on a simple four-note theme. Including musicians Lee Morgan, trumpet; Curtis Fuller, trombone; Kenny Drew, piano; Paul Chambers, bass; "Philly" Joe Jones, drums.

24/192 was just amazing posted on 12/10/2022 5 Stars Reviewer: Jimmy James Too bad I only have 2 discs in that format and what, there may have been a dozen titles made? Kevin Halverson of Muse Electronics who had a lot to do with the technology that made this disc possibe said, The high end will continue to shrink until all there is left is a handfull of folks who will come together in a room, shake hands and fall over dead. Buy this disc before we all fall over dead. If you have a way to take advantage of the format and the 144db of dynamic range you will thank me.

great music; superb sound posted on 03/03/2009 5 Stars Using DVDA Explorer, I was able to convert the entire disc to 192Khz WAV files and listen to it through a music server and audiophile equipment. Given the recording equipment at the time, it's really wonderful.
