The long-awaited release of the legendary 1969 performance!

Creedence's complete Woodstock set — live renditions of their classict hits!

Creedence Clearwater Revival's 1968 self-titled debut album introduced the world to guitar-playing brothers John and Tom Fogerty, drummer Doug Clifford, and bassist Stu Cook, four young men out of El Cerrito in the San Francisco Bay Area.

This long sought-after release celebrates the 50th anniversary of Woodstock, by giving fans a front-row seat to relive CCR's stirring, hour-long set as it was performed that historic night in August of 1969. Kicking off with "Born on the Bayou," the album features the band's biggest singles of the day, plus selections off their first three LPs, including "Commotion," "Ninety-Nine and a Half (Won't Do)" and "Bootleg." Full of creative energy, John, Tom, Stu, and Doug delve deep into their music, playing extended improvisations of "I Put a Spell on You," "Keep on Chooglin'" and "Suzie Q."

Their hour-long set took place shortly after midnight on August 17, 1969, a later-than-planned start due to the Grateful Dead's set over-running. As John Fogerty later recalled, "By the time we got to Woodstock, I felt we were the number one band. Assuming that The Beatles were God, I thought that we were the next thing under them."

CCR were one of the few bands to appear at Woodstock, who had already achieved notable chart success. However, for many their appearance flew under the radar — largely in part to the band not appearing in the movie or the soundtrack which were released post-festival.

Without a doubt, this was one of the best performances at Woodstock. A pity that the recording was sidelined for all these years. If you’re a Creedence fan, pick this one up asap - it features the original lineup, and some blistering guitar work.
