These One Direction guys are just full of surprises. So says Troy Smith, reviewing OD heartthrob Harry Styles' self-titled debut album, for Cleveland.com. Smith says Styles "accomplishes great things on his self-titled debut in ways that will truly surprise you."

The album is astriking mix of shoe-gaze, artistic indie rock, swaggering Britpop and soulful ballads more akin to Adele than, say, Justin Bieber.

At the forefront is "Sign of the Times," a lead single written with the attentions of being as epic and powerful as it's been received.

Indeed, "Sign of the Times" is the kind of song that swells when you think it will slow down. "The end result is one of the most infectious tunes of the year, so far," Smith says.
