Barbara Stanwyck shared the marquee with the King when this 1964 musical came out. But Elvis was the sole star of the soundtrack, a No. 1 smash featuring "Hard Knocks," "Roustabout," "One Track Heart," "Carny Town," "Little Egypt" and more! The album peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard Top LP chart.

Backing vocals are performed by The Jordanaires throughout the album as well as The Mello Men on the song "Roustabout." Instrumentalists include Boots Randolph on saxophone, Floyd Cramer on piano and more.
