Incredible

5 Stars
Posted Thursday, April 6, 2023 by mimitch Love Paul Simon, and my main desire for this great album was to have American Tune on vinyl. The Greatest Hits version is live, which is fine, but I wanted the original. In any event, this version sounds utterly perfect. Whole album is excellent, and this pressing, DSD or not, sounds insanely great.

Amazing and just mindblowing !

5 Stars
Posted Monday, August 1, 2022 by Johan Karlsson Got my amazing Mofi ”Eye In The Sky” today, and it was just a mindblowing experience. Though I bought it from Elusive Disc - I could not give a review on their sajt because it was not for sale anymore, so I tell about it

here instead. The reissue is very well recorded, with a

good overall output, and a VERY good bass and lower

end. The mid’s and the upper end is beautifully

balanced.

I highly recommend this version!

Great Pressing!

5 Stars
Posted Sunday, April 3, 2022 by Anonymous Wow. Really great sounding pressing. This is by far my favorite and best sounding edition of this record. Can't imagine the 1 step improving on this much and I love that I don't have to fuss with 2 lps at 45rpm. I'd love to see more ELO brought back to life on vinyl this quit.

Clear and sharp, but......

3 Stars
Posted Thursday, August 8, 2019 by VicN This version of an old classic is very clear, fast and sharp, but as I listened to it, it just didn't grab me. They've achieved this clarity by biasing the high frequency end at the expense of the mid range. The result is a noticeable amount of the "music" has been sucked out of the mids leaving them very lean. The high end is empathised to the point that some songs were sibilant in parts. I was wondering if it was just me, so I threw on the Sundazed version I've had for a while, which was also produced from the original master tapes. The Sundaze version didn't have quite the same amount of resolution as the MoFi release, but was fuller in the mids, sounded better balanced and had no sibilance. To me the Sundazed version better captured the warm 60s sound and was more involving. So if you're a clarity/resolution freak, then the new MoFi is it. If you prefer the original warmer fuller sound, then the MoFi mastering may leave you a little cold (pun intended).

Great!

Posted Thursday, April 21, 2016 by John C An excellent presentation of an excellent album. Admittedly, I have never owned this album on vinyl before but I would be hard pressed to believe there is a better release out there. Very quiet pressing. Incredibly balanced presentation yet it retains energy and dynamics. On The Girl From the North Country it feels like Bob and Johnny are in the room!

Hands down, a KILLER re-issue of Pearl

5 Stars
Posted Monday, April 4, 2016 by Joey1127 This is an amazing sounding re-master of Janis' last LP. It really sounds F'ing amazing and will have you screaming CRY BABY at the top of your lungs. While the Cheap Thrills on the Sliver Label leaves something to be desired, this is an OUTSTANDING release by Mo-Fi and I would HIGHLY recommend a copy before it's out of print...and it's going to go fast!!!

Not as good as the original Columbia 360 Sound

3 Stars
Posted Monday, April 4, 2016 by Joey1127 So, this is NOT an ORIGINAL MASTER RECORDING release. This is one of those Silver Label jobs. It has a very tipped up treble and just doesn't sound as good as I would have expected a 45RPM pressing from Mo-Fi to sound. It's not bad, but it's just not worth the cost. Seek out an original Columbia 360 Sound pressing and you will love this recording...however, I'd pass on this re-issue, unless you just have a thing for 45RPM vinyl.

Stunning!

Posted Thursday, November 12, 2015 by Anonymous As close to being there as you can get. 45 speed brings out deeper, fuller sound. Great music as well. I own all of the re-mastered versions by MOFI. While they are all amazing, this recording is special. You will not regret buying it.

Carole King - Tapestry Product No: AMOB 414

A classic gets a proper presentation

4 Stars
Posted Wednesday, August 12, 2015 by DeRosa This MOFI reissue of Tapestry is much better than the Japanese pressing i have in my collection. Carol's vocals can be tricky to capture, sometimes her voice can sound hard and bright. This version fixes most of what i don't like about other pressings i've heard, the detail is better in the high end, and the bass is punchy and solid. Overall, it's hard to describe the fact this record sounds a bit unconnected in places, like her voice is very much in front of a different performance. But the music is classic, and this is the best i've heard it. If you've heard this record, you may know what i mean about the sound, but i think you'll agree this is probably the best this record has sounded. Four Stars

Outstanding sound!

5 Stars
Posted Monday, March 9, 2015 by Alan Lawrence I've never been a huge Dead fan as most of their recordings left me empty, but I'm rediscovering them. This 45rpm edition sounds incredible. The pressing is very quiet. The instruments all sound natural. Very nice! I want more!

Posted Monday, August 19, 2013 by Emmanuel If this ain't the master tape I'm listening to somebody pinch me! A couple of weeks ago I traded in my original copies of this album in anticipation of the mofi 45rpm. Am I glad I did. There's just no comparison; while the originals wasn't too shabby, it bears no resemblance to this mofi version. The original is by far louder than the mofi but that's all it has on it. In contrast the Mofi gives you clarity in spades, revealing hidden dimensions that I never before gleamed from the original. As they say it's like night and day. In this case the mofi is night and the original is day. I don't know about you but I hear things better late at night after all white noise of civilization has died down.

meh...

Posted Saturday, September 17, 2011 by Celt I've always found Mo-Fi, Nautilus and all the other so called "audiophile" record companies to be a hit or miss proposition. They either nail it or miss the mark entirely. Sadly, this is the latter. While it's a nice quiet pressing (not always the case with current era Mo-Fi) this album, while barely 20 minutes per side, was cut at such a low level, it all but killed the dynamics of the music. Glancing at the grooves, you'd think the record contained nothing but speech, there's so little modulation. If you're looking for a clean copy that sounds good, try finding a used Elektra copy first.
