Intervention Records is proud to announce the first CD/SACD release in its Intervention Sun Records Hi-Fi Series, Johnny Cash's groundbreaking debut, 1957's Johnny Cash and His Hot and Blue Guitar! 

Johnny Cash's debut album is one of the most important records in American music history. Johnny Cash and His Hot and Blue Guitar! introduced the world to "I Walk the Line," "Folsom Prison Blues," and "Cry! Cry! Cry!," — the songs that built the Cash legend and shaped country, rock, and rockabilly for generations. Intervention worked closely with Sun Records to source the best possible tape elements for this release, with the same painstaking attention to sound quality that defines every title in the Intervention Sun Records Hi-Fi Series.

"I never imagined that I'd hear the iconic voice of Johnny Cash on Intervention Records!" said Shane Buettner, Intervention Records' founder. "And I don't think music fans around the world have ever heard Johnny's voice, or Sam Phillips' famous Sun Studio sound, as clearly and definitively as they will on this new 45 RPM mono cut. This is as close you can get to a time machine back to Memphis in the 1950s!"

Of course, IR paid no less attention to the album art, which was restored by IR Art Director Tom Vadakan and produced at Stoughton Printing.
