"The music that they make is great and you should take a listen." — ultimateguitar.com

L.A.-based Dot Hacker has released part one of their highly anticipated sophomore album How's Your Process? (Work) today. The next segment — How's Your Process? (Play) — is set to release on October 7, 2014.

Dot Hacker's 2012 debut album, Inhibition, was hailed as "one of the year s best debuts and a rewarding trip" by ARTISTdirect. The band released a vinyl 7" for Record Store Day 2014, and present How s Your Process? in two parts, beginning with How s Your Process? (Work). The album was mastered by Bernie Grundman in Hollywood. The cover features a photo from award-winning photographer, Ryszard Horowitz.

Billboard referred to the album as having "piercing hooks and transfixing arrangements."

"We recorded a lot of songs over the last year with the intention of making a single full length album. We never actually expected that all of them would make the final sequence. However, we quickly realized there was nothing we felt should be left off." — Clint Walsh in a recent interview with Billboard.

Dot Hacker's genesis comes from when Klinghoffer and bandmate Clint Walsh were touring as part of Gnarls Barkley back in 2006. Two more seasoned musicians, Eric Gardner and Jonathan Hischke soon rounded up the lineup and the band was formed in 2007.

If you are into ambient dream-rock (sorry - it's the best I can describe this unique-sounding band) you'll find it beautifully presented on this LP. There is no indication where this title was pressed, and it appears to be standard 120-gram vinyl, but it was defect-free with dead-silent backgrounds and no surface noise. However, it may be closer to an EP than a LP - the six tracks barely total 31 minutes, but what's there sounds lush and involving.
