Plated and pressed by Quality Record Pressings

All-analog remastering from the original 2-track master tapes by George Marino at Sterling Sound

Complete original artwork

Limited edition, all-analog stereo edition LP, plated and pressed on 180-gram vinyl at Quality Record Pressings! Are You Experienced, the 1967 debut full-length studio release by The Jimi Hendrix Experience, is widely regarded as the greatest, most influential debut release from any artist.

When first released in 1967, Are You Experienced turned the music world upside down as Hendrix showed everyone exactly what it meant to be "experienced." Remastered and cut to lacquer by George Marino from the original 2-track mix down master tapes, this all-analog reissue returns to the original 11-song version that was originally released in August 1967. It contains such eternal classics as "Hey Joe," "Purple Haze," "The Wind Cries Mary," "Fire," and the title song, whose backward drum tracks and otherworldly guitar work still sound innovative almost a half-century later.

Side A
1. Purple Haze
2. Manic Depression
3. Hey Joe
4. Love Or Confusion
5. May This Be Love
6. I Don’t Live Today

Side B
1. The Wind Cries Mary
2. Fire
3. Third Stone From The Sun
4. Foxey Lady
5. Are You Experienced?

I’m always skeptical when picking up new LP’s from the big major labels, because you never know what you’re going to get. Will they use a crappy digital/CD file as their source or will it be the proper analog master tapes? More often than not, it’s the former rather than the latter. According to the hype sticker, it does state that the analog master tapes were used.

As soon as the first track plays, it will be very obvious that this is a well done pressing. I highly recommend this one. I have the recent Analogue Productions SACD release and this Sony Legacy blows it out of the water. Not even close.

A bargain but very good, not great

The dynamics on this thing are top notch. However, the master tape must be damaged or getting old because there is a noticeable hiss on quiet sections that aren't noticeable on early copies. Still would recommend this one especially for $20.

As good as it gets

I've listened to this remaster several times, now, and my thoughts are always the same: it must sound like the master tape. All of the other versions I've heard have always been bright, congested, compressed, and harsh. This release, not constrained by the limitations of the sixties playback systems, and mastering limitations, sounds tight, natural, and everything sounds as it should, tight, tuneful bass, crisp, not harsh highs, and you can actually appreciate Hendrix's guitar work much more. Highly recommended!

My Experience was it Sounds Amazing!

Much better than 2010 cd release or other lp's. More detail, better sound stage, bass, punch, warmth. Definitely worth purchasing.

Wonderful sound from QRP

This QRP pressing is fantastic! Highly recommended. The best sounding version of 'Experienced' that I've heard!
