During the last seven years since the release of the Opus 3 Showcase 2005, Opus 3 has recorded a variety of genres, including Bluegrass, Americana and music inspired by the early days of pop and rock music.

Nine of the 13 tracks on Showcase 2013 are vocals, unlike earlier recordings where instrumentals were predominant. And no classical music. (This does not mean that there will not be any classical music recorded in the future, this will depend on what opportunities come Opus 3's way!) Along with Eva Taylor, Tomas Örnberg, Eric Bibb, and Rebecca Sjöberg, lauded long-time Opus 3 performers, five new artists are featured: Maria Winther, B.B. Driftwood, Bert "East" Östlund, Dan & The Electros, and intriguing Therese Mercedes Myrhed, whose "I Can Hear It" is one of the favorites on this compilation.

Finally, Jan-Erik Persson's statement that "... this album is to illustrate that regardless of slight changes in the material recorded one thing which remains constant is the highest possible quality of recording" ... that is something that can be vouched for 100 percent!
