Outstanding Sound & Build Quality

It's hard to find an all-tube pre-amp in this price range that's quiet but Rogue did it. The sound is clean, dynamic and quick but somehow retains the rich tube magic. I've own several Rogue pre-amps. Their build quality is outstanding and the sound quality of their products always punches way above it's weight-class. First Class American-made audio gear. Highly Recommended.

I purchased my ares from acoustic sounds in 2011. It has been in everyday use since that time. I have been really pleased with this purchase. I have not had a single problem with this unit. It is very quiet and reliable. The only noise you can hear is a bit of tube hiss at extreme volume levels. This is with the volume almost maxed out with no music playing. You have to put your ear about 2 inches away from the tweeter to hear it. From my listening chair that is 8' away from the speakers, it is dead silent. All you can hear is high quality sound. It is very even across the frequency range. The bass is tight and controlled while the highs are airy and crystal clear. I have used the ares with lots of different cartridges. It handles both high output MM and low output MC equally as well. The built in step up transformer uses quality cinemag transformers and sounds great with my soundsmith sussuro. I would highly recommend this product. It's a great piece.

Unstable product, needs quality control

I have used multiple of these products, and found variable construction, and also prone to be very noisy at busy environment. MM version is reasonable.
