Boring music made worse with very poor quality multichannel recording. I have alot of money invested in my surround sound system and this made it sound like a radio shack special. Dire Straits...Mark Knopfler...Buddy Guy...Avalon..Allison Krause, and a number of other artists have studios who know how to record quality surround sound..why there so much junk out there like this is beyond me.

Audiophile's Dream Come True

The first time I heard this recording is was an LP any audiophile would really love. The ambience hidden within each recording had a definitive you are there feel. In the mid eighties I picked up the CD in Europe and I felt a little ripped off. One CD and some of the songs were missing. Well this time, I picked up what I wanted...compactability and that wonderful presence. Not only is this a great SACD recording but, it also is an HDCD. I can hardly tell the difference between the two recording types. This is a recording to die for. Just go to track four and close your eyes. If you don't feel as if you're at a top notch jazz bar then you've probably never been. Everyone is enjoying the band, their drinks (klink, klink in the background)and the company of others; Always musical and always fun. This is a CLASSIC and just as much fun as it was almost thirty years ago.

The best after KIND OF BLUES

I have purchased this record in vinyl. I am sure that I will do it again in this new format... SACD. I consider this as one of the best LP's. The sound quality and details of the atmosphere is superb. Considering that all the musicians in this record are from Scandinavia, I swear that many American "Giants of Jazz" would like to make this record. Excluding the "KIND OF BLUES" by Miles Davis, this is (for me of course) the best jazz record ever made!!
