"...the recording nicely captures the club's atmosphere, and the balance is remarkably good. Turrentine's tenor is meaty and bright, the drums snap, bass and piano are punchy, and Green's guitar bluesy, raw, or elegant, depending on the number." - Wayne Garcia, The Absolute Sound, January 2012

Analogue Productions' Blue Note and Nat "King" Cole Reissues WIN A Positive Feedback 2010 Brutus Award!

"...if you haven't picked up every one of the Blue Note and Nat King Cole reissues from Chad Kassem and company at Acoustic Sounds, you're really missing out!" - David W. Robinson, Positive Feedback, Issue 52

"...now the best way to hear Turrentine live is on Analogue Productions' Up at Minton's. And for that, Chad Kassem as well as Kevin Gray and Steve Hoffman deserve the applause, as well as Stanley Turrentine's quintet. Another winner from Analogue Productions." - Greg Maltz, Positive Feedback, September/October 2011

This is a perfectly solid record featuring tenor saxophonist Stanley Turrentine, guitarist Grant Green, pianist Horace Parlan, bassist George Tucker and drummer Al Harewood during a frequently exciting live set. Although recorded early in the careers of Turrentine and Green, both lead voices are easily recognizable with Green actually taking solo honors on several of the tracks. Standards and a couple of blues make up the repertoire, giving listeners a definitive look at the soulful Mr. T. near the beginning of his productive musical career.

Stanley Turrentine, tenor saxophone
George Tucker, bass
Al Harewood, drums

Horace Parlan, piano
