"...a musical and sonic treat Young fans would be foolish to pass up. Surely this won't be in-print forever, so get it while you can! Live recordings don't get much better than this." Music = 10/11; Sound = 11/11 - Michael Fremer, musicangle.com

Our Highest Recommendation! INCREDIBLE Sound and Music!

Winner of a Gruvy Award, chosen by AnalogPlanet's editor, Michael Fremer, for vinyl records that are musically and sonically outstanding and are also well mastered and pressed. http://www.analogplanet.com/content/gruvy-awards

Given an "official" release by Young's planned-archive series, this follow-up to his Live at the Fillmore East (featuring Crazy Horse) is an all-acoustic, solo outing from January 1971. Only 25 years ago, and with the highs (and lows) of the Buffalo Springfield, CSN&Y and three solo albums under his belt, Neil went home to Canada and delivered a majestic set of just voice and either flat-top guitar or piano. Bootlegged recordings of this tour are infamous among fans and have been passed around for decades. The official mix from his personal tapes is a Godsend, positioning the listener front row center, catching a budding rock legend in his early prime. Mastered by Chris Bellman at Bernie Grundman Mastering from analog master tapes prepared by John Nowland at Neil's Ranch and pressed on 180-gram vinyl.

I can almost hear his pick when it falls on the floor. It´s that silent. Completely pleased with this record.

One of the best, most believiable records I have ever heard. As a demo this is my absolute favorite, Neil is at his peak, the songs are classic and the sense that he is in the room is unsurpassed by anything else I have heard. I first got this about a year ago, my enthusiasm has only grown.

Everything sells this and no matter the cost you have to have this. The performance is magical. If you are not familiar with Neil Young or 200 gram vinyl, this is the opportunity to fall in love twice. The pressing is super quiet and the sound that transmits this performance will not be heard elsewhere. The jacket is superb and you can never go wrong with a thick rice paper type sleeve to prevent scratches to the record itself. If you are to own one live record or one Neil Young record before you die, this is it!

Neil Young is a national treasure

Neil never sounded better, and the choice of songs was wonderful. However, there is approximately 5 minutes of applauding where there could have been additional music.

This sounded way better than the digital version (going through a top notch DAC) which I can't always say.

Fantastic live recording both sonically and musically with Neil Young introducing much of his "Harvest" material. An intimate musical experience that is breathtaking to hear with its superb sonics

Just brilliant, WOW!

Have just received this and playing side 1. All I can say is wow, this is the best I've heard Neil sound. All acoustic and intimate and the better for it. Very surprised I like this so much as I prefer his heavier stuff, but if Down by the River gets the same treatment as what I've heard so far, I'm going to be in heaven. Can't resist, going to have to skip to it. If your a fan, buy this without hesitation!

Good Sound but with Flaws

A very modern sounding record. Very clean and detailed but Neil's voice lacks the body, tone and fullness I hear in live concerts or earlier Reprise records. The vinyl was quiet and the overall sound was good but there was no mistaking this sounded like a modern reissue. Excellent material and great music but imperfect sonically. Worth the price if you like Neil Young's music (I do) and want to hear new acoustic versions of his earlier work I just wish they would have released this 35 years ago so I could hear more of the analog magic missing on this record.

great alblum great quality

If you're a Neil Young fan this is one of the best LPs he's released. (That's my opinion and I'm sticking to it.) I have a few bootleg (live) LPs of his and they're fun to listen to but the sound quality is poor. This album has both a quality sound and an excellent mix of his early work. GET IT!

Very definitely one of the best records I own and have ever heard. The sound is down-right eerie; turn down the lights and you may actually believe that you are in Massey Hall with Neil and his fans... Highly recommended!!!

Excellent pressing. Very early, intimate live show of Neil Young in Toronto, Canada. The sound quality of this recording is top notch. I am very pleased with this purchase
