A vocal performance for the ages!

1/2" / 15 IPS / Dolby SR analog master to DSD 64 to analog console to lathe

Spinning majestic webs of mellow atmosphere woven with rhythmic textures

True to its title, Tigerlily balance fierceness and delicacy, creating a rare span of emotional territory. Listening to Tigerlily, a distinct songwriter's voice emerges, one which possesses strength and vulnerability. The lyrics are personal, the arrangements stark and sparse. Tigerlily was engineered by John Holbrook, who has worked with The Band, Peter Tosh, and the Isley Brothers.

2024 Restock: Remastering is well done and the end result makes for a great musical experience. Good quality pressing as well. It differs tonally from the CD of course but not in a bad way, it’s a fine mix. After all, isn’t that why we choose vinyl?

Very solid.

I’m unsure what a few of these reviewers are hearing, or

not hearing. I have the original redbook CD, while it is a

stellar sounding CD, this MoFi reissue is no slouch at all

in comparison. The lows are solid and not quiet, unlike

what I read in another review. On my fairly modest

turntable setup this sounds great. I personally wouldn’t

hesitate to recommend this release. To each their own

though, everyone has their own ears and opinions.

Great Album, remastering is questionable

I have had this for 10 years at least. I would love to see Kevin Grey remaster this for Analogue Productions. I think Natalie would be more than pleased with it. The lows in this album are really low on this remaster. Requiring you to turn up your speaker volumn. Natalie's voice is a wonderful instrument, and to catch its delicate vibrato takes a great remastering tech.

Amazing

I have no idea what those couple of people are talking about. I have the high rez 96 khz download of this album and a fairly top notch digital setup. My turntable is much more basic with an Ortofon 2M Bronze, and I have to say this sounds amazing!

The packaging is superb, the records are perfect and one of the better sounding I have heard.

Highly recommended!

MoFi Messed This One Up!

One of my favorite albums. Owned the Redbook CD which sounded amazing. Thought getting the MoFi vinyl re-issue would be a step-up from the CD. Wrong!! Very disappointed. MoFi blew it on this one. The recording is too polite & they messed up the bottom end. What a waste. Not recommended at the $50.00 price.

i actually prefer the CD

That rating is for comparably priced 45 remasters. Vocals are too recessed and imaging flat. Certainly not audiophile quality. Disappointed- I like her music.

my edition of this album sounds excellent. i not only listened to it at home but also listened to it at a dealer as well on a linn sondek and then on a clearaudio avant garde turntable and it was - well wow - and we both agreed!

my beloved wife is really good in the 45 rpm version. wish someone would do the same with the "ophelia" album.

WHAT A WASTE

THIS PIECE OF CRAP MADE ME THINK MY TUBES WERE BAD AND REALIZED IT WAS JUST THE LATEST SUB RE-MASTERING job BY MFSL... I will stick with my cassette of this album. All the great mixing of Jim Scott was flushed down the toilet for this hollow hissing and popping sounding LP, that was previously a very MUSICAL LP. Someone pull the candy corn out of the mastering engineer's ears and stop dropping cracker jacks into the vinyl during pressing. Thank goodness I have the DVD-A copy of this LP. I just wasted my hard-earned money.

PS Very dumpy drum sound and flat vocal mix, was this mastered in an outhouse?

The headline describes Tigerlily and the mastering of this LP. I've waited a long time for this LP and it was well worth the wait. I had to buy two, destined to become a collectors item.
