Critically-acclaimed soundtrack to Whiplash on vinyl
The Grammy-nominated soundtrack to the Academy Award-winning film Whiplash consists of original songs and an original score, plus classic jazz standards by Stan Getz, Duke Ellington (with arrangement by John Wasson) and more. The original score and Big Band songs were created by Justin Hurwitz, and the original jazz songs were created by Grammy-nominated composer, Tim Simonec.
The film explores the story of a jazz drummer trying to reach the top. The soundtrack is obviously filled with plenty of highly percussive jazz in the big band style, but there are some slower and softer numbers mixed in to change it up. An excellent listen on its own, but even better within the context of (the also excellent) film.
