10-inch 45 RPM Single

Soundtrack to the moving short film of the same name

"For me, this track is first and foremost about love and hope. I always felt that it needed to be a soundtrack to a story and was waiting for the story to reveal itself. I had the idea pop into my head when I was writing the lyrics for the choir. It is a mother singing to her depressed teenage daughter that she needs to wake up, that it's beautiful outside and that life deserves to be lived and experienced no matter what." — Joep Beving.

Known for his solo piano recordings, streamed more than 330 million times to date, composer/pianist Joep Beving explores new musical territory in his track, "Post." Five years in the making, "Post" evolved organically, its purpose emerging through a collaborative process with writer-director Hugo Keijzer and production company MikeTeevee, resulting in a moving short film set to, and inspired by, Joep's music.

During lockdown Beving reflected on the many fears eroding the hopes and dreams of countless young adults, and recognised the need to counter existential angst with the consoling power of unconditional love. Keijzer created a compelling short film about a mother and her teenage daughter (played by Renáta Martinová and Klara Müller), a vulnerable young person engulfed by the darkness of depression and anxiety. The result is a piece that is mostly a message of hope. The film has won awards at both the Liber Films Festival and the Hollywood Blvd Film Festival.

Directed by Hugo Keijzer, the film Post starts at the low point with a mother having deciding to admit her daughter to a hospital for professional help. The mother changes her mind at the hospital's doorstep, remembering how she had dealt with emotions when she was younger, and how important nature has always been for her. She takes her daughter on a path toward healing by being in touch with nature — a last-ditch attempt that will ultimately reveal the long journey mother and daughter have been on towards recovery.
