Matador's first pressing of the 1989-'93 compilation!
Coming July 15, 2022, the first Matador pressing of Pavement's Westing (By Musket And Sextant), the compilation of Pavement's early work from 1989-1993. The new pressing coincides with this year's release of the Terror Twilight: Farewell Horizontal 4xLP box set and a 30th anniversary limited vinyl edition of Slanted & Enchanted.
AllMusic says Pavement is perhaps the defining American indie rock band of the 1990s, the group that captured the slacker zeitgeist of the alt rock era. Initially conceived as a studio project between guitarists/vocalists Stephen Malkmus and Scott Kannberg in 1989, Pavement released a series of EPs that were foundational texts in the lo-fi movement of the 1990s before breaking through to the college rock mainstream with their 1992 debut Slanted & Enchanted.
