Julian Lennon, the oldest son of the legendary John Lennon, says sadly, his father never got to see his career unfold. "When I did finally become a professional musican, I felt like I understoon him better."

Julian was signed to Atlantic Records by Ahmet Ertegun in the 1980s and soon became one of the label's biggest hitmakers with his debut smash recording Valotte.

The Valotte album was a big surprise upon its release in 1984. Featuring rock masterworks such as his top charting hits "Too Late For Goodbyes" and "Valotte" as well as more smashes such as "Say You're Wrong," "On The Phone," and the tribute to his father "Well, I Don't Know," the album went on to become a platinum plus debut, and was nominated for Best New Artist by both the Grammy's and MTV, as well as winning a ASCAP publishing award.

The Phil Ramone star-studded recording sessions featured some of the finest players of our time such as Barry Beckett, Roger Hawkins, David Hood from the Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section, as well as more greats like Ralph MacDonald, Marcus Miller, Michael Brecker and Toots Thielemans, whose harmonica is prominently featured on the "Too Late For Goodbyes."

Featuring the dynamic vocals, songwriting and keyboards of Julian Lennon, the Valotte album continues to be one of the rock music finest debuts ever as the artist continues to be a continual force in music and art.

The hitmaking music sounds of Julian Lennon are no stranger to Friday Music, therefore we are pleased to celebrate his debut smash Valotte now on first time super limited edition 180-gram translucent gold audiophile vinyl.

Mastered from the original Atlantic Records tapes by Joe Reagoso (Ringo Starr/Todd Rundgren/Billy Joel) and pressed at Furnace, this audiophile vinyl release will be one of the most anticipated 1980s rock revisits this year.

The famous album cover artwork with also be presented in a first time striking gatefold cover, further enhancing your Julian Lennon experience.
