The latest release from the San Francisco Symphony's complete Mahler cycle. Recorded live at Davies Symphony Hall during the concerts on September 28 through October 4, 2004, Mahler's last completed symphony covers territory from the amiable Austrian pastoral to the fury of its "Burleske" to the uninhibited baring, in the finale, of the unprotected heart.

MTT understands Mahler posted on 12/21/2005 3 Stars MTT understands Mahler however I think the decision of the SF Symphony to self produce is a mistake. I found the recording lacking depth and soundstage - a crucial element with Mahler where every instrunment is important in its own.
