From the early '60s to mid '70s James Brown and band(s) recorded so prolifically and yet, within their unique sphere, it was almost inevitable that some fine examples of their craft would get lost in the rush.

The concept of compiling some of his past recordings was approved by James Brown himself. After diving into the tape vault, here is what was found and decided to be the Motherlode from the archives of the King of Soul's previously unreleased (except People Get Up and Drive Your Funky Soul remix) tunes. The album was originally released in 1988.
