Double LP

Thirty-two years from its release, Paul Simon's classic album Graceland is finally getting the dance remix album it deserves. Slated for release on June 1st via Legacy Recordings/Sony Music, Graceland — The Remixes features reimagined versions of each of the 1986 record's 11 tracks from artists like Paul Oakenfold and Thievery Corporation.

Groove Armada, Photex, and Joris Vooron are also among the musicians and DJs who contribute to the effort, which was approved by Paul Simon himself. Oakenold took on "Crazy Love, Vol. II," while Thievery Corporation tackled "Diamonds on the Sole of Her Shoes" and Groove Armada conjured up a very interesting version of "You Can Call Me Al."

Graceland's title track, on the other hand, was remixed by MK KC Light. It's one of five tunes from the forthcoming album that have already been released a part of a YouTube playlist that popped up on Simon's channel.

"What do you say when someone asks you to remix a classic? Well normally, No!" Groove Armada's Andy Cato said. "It's a rule we've managed to follow for 20 years. Until we got a call about remixing a track from Graceland. Here was an album...which had opened our ears to a new world of sound. We decided to break the rule because we could choose a tune. In ("You Can Call Me Al") was a horn riff which we'd been dropping in our sets ever since we tried it at Fais Do-Do's Ballroom in L.A. back in 1998 and it created an electric moment of dancefloor unity. So the remix wrote itself and our ace-in-the-pack Horn Drop is now public property."
