Alison Moyet's acclaimed 1994 fourth solo album
180-gram LP, remastered from the original tapes
Includes the hit single "Whispering Your Name"
Essex is the fourth studio album by British singer-songwriter Alison Moyet. The album, named after the artist's native Essex, England, was released in 1994, reached No. 24 in the U.K. and includes the singles "Falling," "Whispering Your Name," "Getting into Something" and "Ode to Boy."
The album's four singles had slightly more success than those from the previous album with "Whispering Your Name" peaking at No. 18. The track was a cover of the Jules Shearn song which he recorded along after Ignatius Jones had originally done so. The ballad from early in the album was turned into an upbeat dance affair which again featured Dawn French in the promotional video.
