Mastered from the original analog master tapes

After four years of nearly nonstop performing, CCR sounds as polished and tight as ever on this album. Of the two hit singles from the LP, "Hey Tonight" and "Have You Ever Seen The Rain," the latter's slower ballad format clearly suggests that band was exploring new areas of its music, including a developing emphasis on instrumentals. With this swing of the pendulum the creative tasks would in the future be shared by all members of the group. A fine and tasty offering, Pendulum is still universally acknowledged as among the greatest in the annals of rock.

1. Pagan Baby
2. Sailor's Lament
3. Chameleon
4. Have You Ever Seen the Rain?
5. (Wish I Could) Hideaway
6. Born to Move
7. Hey Tonight
8. It's Just a Thought
9. Molina
10. Rude Awakening #2

I received my Cd this arvo. Plonked it into my SACD player - oh no! I was disappointed. The bass is just too flat and sound seems to channel mainly to the central speaker(?) The left and right channels including the rear speakers are a tad too low. Increased the volume slightly higher than my normal listening level the sound appears to be much better. Then I forgot to reduce the volume and plonked in my Japanese SHM CD - whoa! it nearly burst my eardrums. I am convinced that SHM CD is probably my choice for all future releases.

Being a huge fan of the band since the late sixties, I was always disapointed with the production quality available in Australia, of this, my favourite CCR disc. However, this SACD remaster goes a long way towards making this disc even more listenable than ever, that is, its not just the great songs, arrangements and playing that gets you in - you can actually hear all this properly for the first time. Having said all that, this disc does need a remix, not just a remaster, good though it is. This can be proved by listening carefully with headphones and on several tracks you will hear that the kick drum and bass guitar are not mixed exactly centraly within the mix. However is responsible for this should taken out the back and offered their last cigarette!! I await a remixed SACD (preferably multitrack) with more than some anticapation.

This one is Superb

Out of the three CCR SACDs i own this one sounds right! Mastered direct to DSD, It is a real joy, sounding very analog & Master tape like, lovely transfer! I just wish that "willy & the poor boys" & "cosmos factory" sounded this good, but to me they are lacking in top end clarity. Pendulum on SACD is fantastic-Highly recommended!!

It is all here... and it IS everything everyone says!

This (and the other CCR disks from Analogue Productions) has become a staple in my SACD collection. It is everything that everyone says it is. Clarity abounds, dynamic frequency responce, and the music is timeless. I don't need to review the songs as you have undoubtedly heard them, but, rest assured that you will not be dissapointed with how clean and FAT these fantastic disks are!!! WORTH EVRY PENNY!
