RCA/Decca Living Stereo Reissue Series featuring 12 RCA Europe Titles on Both 33 1/3 200g LP & Hybrid Stereo SACD!

Coming on the heels of Analogue Productions' Decca Classical SACD series of nine famed iconic classical titles, these 12 RCA Europe titles are some of the most sought-after by collectors. Hard-to-find original mint condition pressings fetch premium prices. And now they're getting the much-lauded Analogue Productions reissue treatment!

Analogue Productions has remastered these historic recordings from the original master tapes. The majority of the titles were remastered by renowned European mastering engineer Willem Makkee. The vinyl releases will be pressed at Quality Record Pressings and plated by Gary Salstrom. The LP packaging will be original tip-on jacket facsimiles that precisely duplicate the original cover art.

Georg Solti, conducting the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden. Originally released in 1959. Ravishing string tone and superior dynamics. Indisputedly beautiful string tone in Act One of Traviata. About a minute or so into the last band on side one, one hears the famous Underground subway rumbling beneath Kingsway Hall. The Underground, the Aldrich-Holborn line, was a constant factor to be addressed by Decca engineers.

If you should have any doubt ordering this particular pressing / record, don't. While I haven't heard an original or the Classic reissue from decades ago (hard to believe), I can't imagine either of them sounding better than this superb, off the charts reissue from Acoustic Sounds.

What Chad and team have done is nothing short of spectacular; the pressing is stone mint, quiet and has dynamics that are off the charts great. A fantastic rendition of this wonderful music - I wouldn't pass it up.

Lastly, the jacket is an excercise in diligence and attention to detail: simply put, a must have title. A+++++

The new AP version sounds excellent. Clarity, sound stage, and presentation are spot on. That said, for the first time in quite awhile, I did have to clean the LP in my RCM (it wasn't as quiet as most AP releases I receive, now it's just fine and quiet). I have a few versions including the original and Classic Records. The AP version is better sounding than the 180 gram Classic version and original. The sleeve packaging is very nice, however, the photo transfers have become more blurred over the years. The original has that wonderful Encyclopedia Britannica feel from the early 60s (that's gone unfortunately). Que Sera, the music survives!
