Part one of the set of remixes for Björk's Vulnicura. Björk has collaborated with some of the music industry's most forward-thinking forces to create two sets of ingenious remixes to accompany her latest album.
The first of the four remixes is for the track "Notget," and comes from Berlin-based producer Lotic, crowned as Resident Advisor's "Break Through" act earlier this year; the second remix is from Katie Gately, who chose to work on the track "Family." Björk chose Bronx-born producer Gately to add to the series of remixes after she claims to have been "immediately blown away by her universe."
The next track in line for a rework was the highly popular "Lionsong," put in the hands of English singer, songwriter, composer and producer Mica Levi, best known for her band Micachu & The Shapes and for creating experimental music in a diversity of genres.
The concluding remix from the first half of the two-part remix sequence emerged from Utrecht-based producer Kramphaft. Kramphaft was presented the project of reworking "History Of Touches" and claims "I was very honored to be part of this, although it was a pretty daunting task to rework a song with such an intimate topic."
The Vulnicura Remix Project is being released in limited qualities for collectors, as a series of single-sided etched translucent 12-inch records, in die-cut jackets.
