Numbered limited edition Hybrid Stereo SACD

One of the most successful and enjoyable debuts in history, the Cars' self-titled album doubles as a greatest-hits collection. A primary reason why the Boston quintet became America's most popular new-wave band, The Cars launched multiple tunes still heard on radio stations everywhere: "You're All I've Got Tonight." "Good Times Roll." "Just What I Needed." "Moving in Stereo." "My Best Friend's Girl."

If you're a fan of pop music, this album is mandatory. At once accessible and eccentric, edgy and catchy, The Cars explodes with emotion, energy, and hooks. It's impossible not to get caught up humming along to every song here. Better still, legendary Queen producer Roy Thomas Baker manned the boards.

1. Good Times Roll
2. My Best Friend’s Girl
3. Just What I Needed
4. I’m in Touch With Your World
5. Don’t Cha Stop
6. You’re All I’ve Got Tonight
7. Bye Bye Love
8. Moving in Stereo
9. All Mixed Up

Save your money. What is the big deal about Mobile Fidelity ? Their releases pale in comparison to ANY Japanese SACD import I have ever bought.

Their re-issues are slightly better at best versions of regular Redbook releases or re-masters.

If you can find what you are looking for as a Japaneses import SPEND THE MONEY the difference is night and day.

A classic music-wise is a work by an artist that stands the test of time and is still relevant decades later. Such is this album by The Cars. I recall two recordings played almost continuously...this and the debut album by Boston. It was so hard to pick one over the other. But, if I had to choose, it would be this one, simply because of the last two songs and how they fade into one long song that leaves you asking for the next track. I rate this as one of the top 5 in the history of rock music. Forget the claimed category it belonged in, rock vs. pop vs. anything else the industry tried to put it in, when you put it on and keyed track one, it was nothing but pure rock. Showing my age but grandchildren later, they also like this as a rock album. I was thrilled it finally made it to SACD and found it a bargain at the purchase price. I would have gladly paid $100 for it. If you wanna rock, put this one and sit back. To double rock, get the debut album of Boson ready also!!!

I've always loved this album, the DCC gold cd WAS my go to copy. When I saw that MoFi was releasing a sacd version I knew that I had to hear it. My opinion: this new sacd is a revelation, a very wide soundstage & great clarity with lots of detail. IMHO this sacd beats the DCC hands down. This may even be THE best sacd from MoFi so far! Five stars & my highest recommendation! I can't wait for Heartbeat City on sacd from MoFi.
