Newly remastered on Hybrid SACD

The two jazz giants Ben Webster and Harry ""Sweets"" Edison had long wanted to record an album together, and in 1962, they did. Although associated with two different orchestras (Edison was with Basie and Webster was with Ellington), these two swing kings found that they had a lot in common.

This album features both horn men on three medium tempo blues, ""Better Go,"" ""Kitty,"" and ""Did You Call Her Today."" Other than this, Webster gets two tenor features, contributing absolutely luscious solos on both ""How Long Has This Been Going On,"" and ""My Romance."" Newly remastered on Hybrid SACD. This SACD plays on all SACD and CD players.

1. Better Go
2. How Long Has This Been Going On
3. Kitty
4. My Romance
5. Did You Call Her Today
6. Embraceable You

I have this on vinyl, so this is a review of the music, not of the format. I agree with Nat X. If you love music, this is music to love. Put this on your stereo, pour a glass of wine, and sit back. We are talking therapy here.

I have many albums that I love...and they stay that way...and so often I think that I won't find another one that can come close to any position on that list of the great ones. There are many reasons I love them...some were played during certain times....some I heard out of nowhere and had to own. But...I keep buying albums...always searching...always chasing the dragon. From the first note on this album I was hooked. I'm not saying it's the greatest album of all time...but if you love music...you need to own this. Phenomenal....peaceful...powerful. You'll dig it.
