WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT!

Despite the mixed reviews all over the net I decided to buy this LP. I'm glad to have it in my vast Sinatra collection but it is not worth the price at all! In fact, I think the CD sounds BETTER than this LP set. In fact, the sound is lower than other FS MoFi LP's I own and it's annoying to have to crank up the volume when playing this...which is not too often.

First off, I believed all the hype on this release, so I bought two copies. Well, guess what, it sounds EXACTLY the same as the cd issue from 1994. I did side by side comparisons, used different cartridges AND different amps to see if I could extract the sound that was supposedly found on the master tapes. But no, it sounds exactly the same. And just to be sure it wasn't me, I had friends come over and I did blind comparisons for them. They too could not tell the difference. The original CD issue never sounded all that bad. I expected this to be a total sonic break through, but it's not. Save your money and just get a used copy on cd of this great album.

I bought the cd years ago it is a great performance . I was hoping they found the extra sound missing from the cd. They did not. I feel this is alot of money for not a whole lot of difference in sound.
