I've owned the original Cotillion release of this and while the SQ is similar, a veil has definately been lifted. Adding to that, the surfaces are dead quiet and the packaging is first rate! All records come in high quality plastic sleeves and the album artwork is identical to the originals! Both album sets come in a heavy carboard box along with a book full of colour and B&W photographs. Quite excellent!

The sound is very similar than the original LP's, not so good. The box art and the inside book are very good, but the album covers lack of colour and brightness.

Inspite of the tape hiss, amp and microphone feedback, distortion on some tracks and some strange changes in recording levels on others the music still seems alive and has that you are there quality. The quality of some of the performances leaves something to be desired but most sets are excellent. I must add that the LP surfaces on my copies are excellent with no pops, ticks or other surface noises. Considering the crude recording equipment and techniques used at Woodstock highly enjoyable playback with lots of classic songs. Highly recommended.
