Incredible in every way. Unlike many sonic extravaganzas, the music on this 3 LP set is equally engaging, showing off, perhaps, Chad's own personal favorite artists and tracks. If you thought RLJ's Pop Pop was a sonic knock-out, wait until you hear her do Steely Dan's "Show Biz Kids". And if the only version of Abangoma (Hugh Masekela) you've heard was on the Burmester CD sampler, you're in for another sonic treat. The bottom line is simply that no matter your musical tastes (and I hope they are wide), you will enjoy this fabulous compilation. Thanks Mr. Kassem

Thorens album defective pressings

This marvelous Thorens work deserves more carefull on pressings because, in my case, the second record presented distortion all side 3 and a little less on side 4. I returned the defective record and Acoustic Sounds kindly sent to me a new complete album. Unfortunately the second record was only a little better than previously, but now with a new defect on side 5. I gived up for another change; I live in Europe!

What a fantastic sampler. I am amazed at how good these 3 LP's sound on my stereo system. Awesome full sound, crystal clear, no surface noise whatsoever. The Jazz (Hugh Masekela) was the standout for me.

Sparkling vocals,Crisp instrumentals. The Staple Singers "I'll Take You There" made me jump off my chair and filled me with joy. It was unbelievably great and joyous music perfectly captured. Ricki Lee Jones's "Low Spark of High Heeled Boys" She is Right There. The best sampler LP I have ever heard.

Terrific compilation to highlight your turntable

I had just purchased a new turntable (ClearAudio Performance) with a Benz Ruby 3 cartridge. I had not owned a turntable for about 20 years. I was looking for new music as my albums were old and needed cleaning. I found this Thorens compilation and WOW, its really a great collection of different formats: female vocals, classical, R&B, blues, and jazz. Side 6 simply blew me away and I play it for friends who haven't heard vinyl in a long, long time.

If you have a turntable, you'll be happy to own this 3 record set.

The sound quality, detail, dynamics, absolute clarity reminded me that I have a pretty darned good system. Didn't like the first track, but enjoyed most of the rest very much.

Beautifully recorded with an excellent mixture of musical genre's. I keep returing to this record when I don't feel like pulling out multiple lp's for an evening listening session. There is something here that appeals to most any audiophile's taste. The packaging is first rate with superb color photography inside the gatefold. I highly recommend this collection for both sonic and musical attributes.

OMG... Great song selections and totaly fantastic recordings. Makes you realize why you spent so much money on your system. This is one of the finest recordings I have ever heard. Only thing I would have added would have been a few rock cuts.
