20th Anniversary Remasters

The original 11-track album on two 180-gram virgin vinyl LPs.

"…Expertly remastered from the original analog master tapes, the album's gold mine of atmospherics, tones, and micro-dynamics breathes with enhanced warmth and detail. Sustained notes, airy vocals, and luxurious treble-accents seamlessly intertwine." Music = 5/5; Sonics = 4.5/5 – Bob Gendron, The Absolute Sound, February 2008

"…U2 is what the Rolling Stones ceased being years ago – the greatest rock 'n' roll band in the world." – Robert Hilburn, The LA Times, 1987

U2's biggest selling album to date entered the US album charts at No. 7 and reached No. 1 three weeks later. It was U2's first album to reach No. 1 in the United States. In 1999, The Joshua Tree was awarded the RIAA's highest certification, Diamond, with 10 million units sold. The record contains so many huge hits, including "Where The Streets Have No Name," "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For" and "With Or Without You."

The pressing is not bad at all for the price I paid 2 LP , you need to clean the new LP before play , I only find German pressing very high quality and very clean need not to clean - out of box /cover you can play it without noise, even Mofi need to clean before play. Good to invest in vinyl cleaning machine.

The sound stage is good, music is clean and clear

awful pressing, not worth the vinyl !!!

The remastering is well done, but the pressing is a real catastrophy, it's not quite with a lot of sizzling. It's not worth any buck.

A Let Down.

I was really expecting a much higher quality product. Since they went to the trouble of making two 180 gram records out of this album, presumably for better audio quality, they really skimped on the quality of the vinyl itself. I guess they had to cut corners somewhere. You are getting two discs for the price of one here, but unfortunately the vinyl is only half as good.

Quiet, quiet vinyl. This album kept pulling music out of the grooves I had never heard before. I even had the original vinyl release and the original CD. No comparison. This edition is the ultimate!

Original UK or US best it. Especially US.

I had high hopes for this reissue but was not impressed. It seems like there is a lot of mediocre quality vinyl getting issued these days.

I bought the original LP in 87 but this sound much much better !

Compared to the CD, this is better. Compared to other 180g vinyl, only OK. I enjoy it, but if I am going to show off my system to a friend, it will not be with this LP. Still a little compressed.

Excellent mastering quality

The pressing is quiet, more than the original 1987 release. It has a nice full bodied sound with added bass, particularly on With Or Without You. The soundstage is fairly big and Bono's vocals cut through nicely.
