"…In terms of recording quality, this one is a winner, with extremely quiet surfaces, a nice wide open soundstage and warm tonality that one doesn't always get with Japanese pressings, reissues or not." – Jeff Dorgay, Tone Audio, www.tonepublications.com

Fire and Water was the 1970 breakthrough of the British blues/hard rock group, Free. As the band's third album, Fire and Water broke the Top 20. Free's brand of blues rock framed Paul Rodgers' throaty voice, and guitarist Paul Kossoff provides the perfect foil with incisive, measured solos exemplified by his contribution to "All Right Now." This is the record that took the band from club gigs to festival dates.

Free's Fire And Water is one of the first and greatest Power/Pop albums ranking with anything that Led Zepplin did in their first three albums. Great musicians, playing great Rock N' Roll. This Japanese release is clean and dynamic as any original British pressing I've ever heard. Don't waste your time looking for a used domestic pressing, A&M just didn't do this group justice.
