Beautiful peaceful music. The Moonlight Serenade/Round Midnight will bring a smile the first time you hear it. Ray Brown's big Bass Fiddle is the ultimate test of your system and room, low frequency peaks will make it almost unlistenable. But when it's right, you can walk over and shake his hand!

Before I give the order of this album, I had listened only track 1. My feelings was so so. But when I owned the vinyl and listened all tracks, I was flying over the clouds. It is gorgeous. I feel as if the performers are sitting in the same room with me and they are playing to me. That is totally live. Performers are perfect, recording is perfect. What else to say?

Moody and relatively dark throughout, this is nonetheless a very fine set. The bass and guitar blend superbly both musically and sonically. And the sonics are indeed spectacular - room ambience is all over each track. Further evidence that Ray Brown was a genius.

Highly recommended for late night (2am-6am) listening and associated staring into the glow of the EL-34s...chill and enjoy!
