A tad on the bright side

Most unfortunately, I find this DVD-A to be a tad on the bright side. This is most noticeable with the busier rock music songs that contain a lot of high frequency clutter such as Funeral for a Friend/Love Lies Bleeding and Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting.

From the very first set of notes of Funeral for a Friend, you know you are in for a treat. The clarity, separation and sonics are beyond words. You NEED to experience this in DVD-A. A must have in your collection. The extra acoustic version of Candle in the Wind, in my opinion, is better than the original.

I didn't think I could enjoy this album any more, but if you love this album or never listened to it before, I highly recommend this one. The intensity, clarity and presence is enhanced ten fold in 5.1 sound.

Greg Penny To Be Applauded

This release of GBYBR, in 6 channel sound, is absolutely sublime. The sonic realism revealed by this format is startling. The listener is put in the center of all the instruments and, while mixed in phantom stereo like the other releases, Elton's voice is placed in the center channel, which can be adjusted to suit the listener's taste. The gunshot portrayed by the entrance of the drums in "The Ballad of Danny Bailey" will blow you out of your seat.

Can't wait for the release of the other albums in DVD-Audio. If you are reading this and have anything to do with their release, please know that yesterday isn't soon enough to suit me.

Thank you, Greg Penny.

I have the mobile fidelity version of this album and this one is even better. The detail of the vocals and instruments make the experience more lifelike etc.
