Pink Floyd - The Dark Side Of The Moon

The Pink Floyd catalog, back on vinyl, 180-gram pressing

Their first U.S. album, originally released in 1973

Pink Floyd Records — along with Sony Music and Warner Music Group —is reintroducing the band's classic catalog on vinyl, with release dates at regular intervals. Special care has been taken to replicate the original packaging.

This is Pink Floyd at its collective finest, with everyone contributing. David Gilmour took a huge chunk of the music — writing, laying down the chord progressions on "Breathe," "Time," and "Any Colour You Like," plus the singing on the album's best songs, Water conceeding to David's far superior voice. Gilmour also pumped out what would later be hailed as some of rock's most influential lead-guitar riffs on "Money" and "Brain Damage."

Side 1
1. Speak to Me
2. Breathe (In the Air)
3. On the Run
4. Time
5. The Great Gig in the Sky

Side 2
1. Money
2. Us and Them
3. Any Colour You Like
4. Brain Damage
5. Eclipse

Searched high and low for a reasonable replacement for my 1979 MFSL version of the classic album; had just about worn a hole in mine!

Get the Columbia version of this record; it's excellent and actually rivals the original MFSL!

I compared this new pressing to my SHVL 804 A5/B5. After comparing, I listed my 804 on eBay to pay for this record and something else on my wishlist. The vinyl is flat, and not a pop or crackle to be heard. It sounds as good as the SHVL IMO, I'm very impressed. I bought the new Meddle LP and it sounds great as well.
