By all industry standards, The Dark Side Of The Moon is a phenomenon. Known for its complex instrumental textures, the album firmly established Pink Floyd as one of the most innovative bands in rock history. Since its release in 1973, The Dark Side Of The Moon has sold over 30 million copies and spent an incredible 741 weeks on Billboard's Album Chart.  Vinyl (in its original packaging) will include an extra 30th anniversary poster by Storm Thorgerson.

The Best of Pink Floyd posted on 11/11/2004

A Must have for anyone whom is interested in Floyd or just a Progrssive Rock fan. From a lyric and music standpoint it is the best work of PF, even with PF being at the bottom of Prog musicians. The album is produced as one long song, so you never get a choppy feel like some other prog bands have. For PF, it gets a 5, lyrics a 5, Music a 5, and Production a 5. The only other prog album to do this well by me is "A Trick of the Tail" by Genesis

I was just old enough to buy one of the last pressings of the DSOTM before the CD wave hit. My copy was scratched and pitted from too many listenings, so the 30th Anniversary naturally sounds better to my ears. Only complaint is the inclusion of a new, purple version of the pyramids poster that was included with the original pressing. I much prefer the original "green" version.

Besides football and Hot Wheels my 9 year-old son and I share a love of music. He is one of the few kids at his school who knows what an LP and 45 are. He asked last week why DSOTM (SACD) is always out on my stereo cabinet. We put it on and listened to a few songs. It was a nice father/son bonding moment and I was happy that it was me that introduced him to this classic. I never tire of DSOTM and it is one record I am happy to spin anytime. Acoustic Sounds did a fantastic remastering job and I recommend buying both SACD and especially the vinyl version with all the goodies, just like you remember.

Amazing sound! Beats the heck outta the SACD on the most sonically astounding album ever made!! You won't regret it.

I only had an old and well worn vinyl of DSOTM, a real victim of a poor turntable during my youth. Recently picked up the new version and brought back old memories, it sounded fantastic. It could be that my system has "improved" to say the least since I was 17 but regardless an excellent version.

I have an early pressing of DSOTM that sounds excellent having been played very rarely through the years. I had heard many good things about AcousTech and they did not disappoint. There is no comparison in the clarity of this pressing versus my early one. I read some of the other reviews concerning surface noise etc. which is why I am throwing in my two cents. I have to say that the pressing I received has to be one of, if not the cleanest, sweetest sounding albums I have ever heard.

Sound is excellent. Low background noise. There are a couple of loud clicks on Us and Them.

Just picked up Pink Floyd's 30th Anniversary re-issue of The Dark Side of the Moon. Can't really say much apart from what others have already raved about for years. Floyd just sounds that much better on vinyl. Period.

this lp is my first venture into vinyl since 1982. a great package...posters, stickers, etc. the lp sounds so "not digital" and has a warmth and deep texture that even the sacd is lacking. the sacd is wonderful, but this lp is just so warm and lush. played back on a good system, you'll love it. my deck consists of a pro-ject rm5-se using a sumiko blue point 2 cartridge.

Despite all the naysayers that I read before I purchased this, my unscientific ears thought it sounded great. I don't have one of those $10,000 record players or a $20,000 stylus, so I may not know...so what. If you love this record, you should buy it.

This is the best pressing out there posted on 10/15/2009

I've compared this pressing to the what are reportedly the best pressings of DSOTM: both MFSL pressings, Japanese pressings (including the Pro-Use pressing), and the rare UK quad pressing. This pressing is easily superior to each of these older copies. The clarity is amazing.

Don't bother with any other audiophile pressings of DSOTM. You'll only end up paying much, much more for an inferior product. This pressing is IT.

One minor gripe: the pressing quality doesn't match the quality of the sonics. Apparently this edition was pressed in the Netherlands. I wish they had opted for Japan. My copy was a little warped, with a little surface noise here and there (resolved with a good cleaning). I think an album like this deserved more a meticulous pressing.

Still, overall, 5 huge stars.

Nice, but let down by the pressing posted on 11/27/2009

I agree with many others here that this is the ultimate version on vinyl. My only complaints are that the pressing was a little bit disappointing (made in holland), and for some reason the dreaded IGD crept in early.
