Adele's 25, her new album featuring "Hello"

180-gram LP pressed at RTI

First new music since the Oscar-winning single "Skyfall" in 2012

"My last record was a break-up record and if I had to label this one I would call it a make-up record. I'm making up with myself. Making up for lost time. Making up for everything I ever did and never did." — Adele

"... the lion's share of Adele's appeal stems from her authenticity. A lot of people can sing, and sing marvelously, but it's far more rare to find someone as authentic in their delivery as she is ... On 25, she once again has something to say, with a voice that demands to be heard." — The A.V. Club Read the entire review here.

"25 is certainly the equal of its predecessor. What it sacrifices in youthful rawness it makes up in maturity and sheer class. Adele Adkins has taken her time over her third album and it shows." — The Telegraph U.K. Read the entire review here.

With 25, her third album, and probably the last in a trilogy of albums with an age in the title, the 27-year-old multi-Grammy songstress Adele says 25 is about geting to know "who I've become without realizing. And I'm sorry it took so long but, you know, life happened."

The album leads off with an appropriately-titled salutation to the fans who've missed her — "Hello" is the first single. The video for the song was directed by celebrated young Canadian director Xavier Dolan and casts Adele as alone and calling a past lover to apologize for "everything I've done" but finding no one answers her call. The song was written by Adele and her producer Greg Kurstin, who has also worked with Sia, P!nk, Peaches, Beck and the Flaming Lips.

The new album also features songs by Bruno Mars, Danger Mouse and Tobias Jesso Jr.

Pressing ?

Finally found reviews that matched my bad experience on the pressing noise of the LP.

I’m just getting back into Vinyl and this was my first NEW album. I agree the music is great as heard on CD but the Vinyl LP had noise on it I could not remove using: Record washer, anti static gun & Mat, needle cleaning gel etc. My other LP’s I have are used but clean up and sound great compared to this LP, so I know it’s not my system.

Looked at other sites for reviews and no one talked about bad pressing noise except for these reviews.

I came here to purchase a new copy of the LP in hopes that I just got a bad pressing and the majority of Adele 25 LP’s are clean.

I completely agree with the other reviewer. First off, soundstage is completely two dimensional and muted. Surface noise is noticeable, even on my relatively beginner setup. There were smudges all over the surface of the album, and I could actually see several dimples from the pressing on the A side of the disc! The B side sounded noticeably better. I wondered why this was on sale, I guess you get what you pay for. Ordered two other LPs at the same time and those sound perfect (Eric Clapton Unplugged and Neil Young Harvest). If I were acoustic sounds, I would seriously consider pulling this from my offerings until the manufacturer figures out their problem.

Disappointing!

Great music, bad mastering! Pressing has a lot of surface noise. Was this really pressed at RTI?
