Willie Nelson - Stardust

The record label didn't want Nelson to do this project, inspired partially by the death of pop crooner Bing Crosby. Standard material - "Moonlight in Vermont", "All of Me", "Don't Get Around Much Anymore" - is arranged by Booker T. Jones of Green Onions fame and recorded in Nelson's inimitable style in Emmylou Harris' house.

1. Stardust
2. Georgia On My Mind
3. Blue Skies
4. All of Me
5. Unchained Melody
6. September Song
7. On The Sunny Side Of The Street
8. Moonlight in Vermont
9. Dont Get Around Much Anymore
10. Someone to Watch Over Me

Just received this album two days ago. It just sounds fantastic. Real good separation and detail with plenty of punch in the rhythm section. I love it. I think it's the best Willie has ever put out.

I was disappointed in the quality of this vinyl-record was not quiet as expected and I almost sent it back with another record that was hyped up. It sounds good from another room but that's not why I bought it and I am getting tired of the hyped up description that that I read and am finding it hard to believe them anymore so I haven't ordered much lately.

Have to agree with Mr.Melancon, this is the best Willie Nelson recording I have ever heard. I also have the Stardust SACD and as he said this album SLAYS it completely. "September Song", track one on side two is FANTASTIC. I have never heard this song sound better. It has just the right amount of 'space', is dead quiet, and when I close my eyes I can just about convince myself that Mr. Nelson himself is sitting there on a small stool, in the center of my room, singing just to me... Get this one, it's a classic!

One of my personal favorites.

This is an excellent album. Probably my favorite Willie album. I highly recommend this pressing it sounds great and the songs are all classics. Buy this album you won't be sorry. Its in my top 5 favorite lps.

I also have this on SACD but this pressing of it just embarasses the SACD.
