Bobby Darin was probably the most versatile and fearless vocalist of his generation, fully capable and willing to tackle The Great American Songbook, rock and roll and even folk music with his impeccable phrasing and warm tone. So why should his Christmas album be any less adventuresome? The 25th Day of December with Bobby Darin alternates between reverential, traditional readings of songs like "O Come All Ye Faithful," "Ave Maria" and "Dona Nobis Pacem" to rousing, gospel-in-flected numbers like "Child of God," "Go Tell It on the Mountain" and "Jehovah Hallelujah," with great backing (on the gospel songs) by the Bobby Scott Chorale.

This fine album has been out of print for decades, and it is our honor to announce the first time 180-gram audiophile vinyl presentation of The 25th Day Of December by the legendary Bobby Darin on Friday Music. This limited edition audiophile masterpiece is now impeccably mastered by Joe Reagoso (Elvis Presley/Johnny Cash) from the original ATCO Records tapes and features the original LP artwork not seen in years.

Bobby Darin passed away in 1972 at the young age of 37. He left behind years of incredible recordings and memories that his millions of fans will enjoy for decades to come. Pick this up! You will not be disappointed! An amazing album, which isn't presented in your usual crooner style. This one has a huge gospel/spirituals feel to it (but he throws in a few of the "usual" holiday tunes to keep the masses happy, too!) One of my all-time favorite Christmas albums!
