One of the most incredible sounding albums we've ever heard. It's exactly what audiophiles dream about. A mixture of great music, great performances and a great recording - all with air to breathe. Show-stopping sound!

"There's nothing we've offered that I'm more excited about and that I'm more confident will just blow people away." - Chad Kassem, Acoustic Sounds, Inc. CEO

Mastered by Doug Sax

"For those of you without a turntable, it's arguable that the sound quality of the LP and this high-res edition are its main selling points. ... it's a sincere homage to one of the greatest vocalists of the 20th Century, and it works even for those who don't know Dusty's definitive versions. Exquisite stuff, including the lone original track, 'Pretend.'" — Ken Kessler, Hi-Fi News, November 2012

Released originally by Lost Highway Records in 2008, Just A Little Lovin' is Shelby Lynne's stirring, emphatic tribute to the late British singer Dusty Springfield. It is to date the highest charting album of Lynne's career, reaching No. 41 on the Billboard 200. The producer is veteran Phil Ramone - the engineer for Springfield's original recording of "The Look Of Love."

Right on the heels of our Analogue Productions reissue of Dusty Springfield's Dusty In Memphis, which was named Stereophile's Recording of the Month for February 2012, the timing couldn't be more perfect.

In addition to the Springfield tracks, Lynne also covers Tony Joe White's "Willie and Laura Mae Jones."

PopMatters' review of Just A Little Lovin' wrote - "Lynne has crafted a disc that - while not exactly transcendent - still manages to go to emotional places that remain unattainable to your run-of-the-mill pop vocalists." Some of Dusty's biggest hits are covered here including "You Don't Have To Say You Love Me," "I Only Want To Be With You," and "How Can I Be Sure."

Let Shelby Lynne give you Just A Little Lovin' - it'll make your day!

Boring arrangement

This whole album lacks innovative originality and verges on the border of monotonity with exceptionally boring arrangement! Very disappointed!

Definitely a showcase recording to demonstrate the potential of DSD. The first two tracks sounded a bit like the microphone was almost overdriven with the barest hint of vocal distortion. But from there on, mama mia! Ms. Lynne accomplishes a tip of the hat to Ms. Springfield but with a delightfully unique personalization of style. The artistic and engineering performances on "Willie and Laura Mae Jones" was so realistic that halfway through the song I found myself resisting the urge to grab a pen and notebook, walk across my listening room, shake hands, and ask for autographs! This download, along with Willie Nelson's "Stardust" just might convince you that the best ticket to a concert is the Acoustic Sounds website and one, or both, of these DSD offerings. By the way, Shelby Lynne is much better looking than Willie Nelson, although he does have his own kind of charm.

The sound is great through my Oppo-105 SE (upgrade) player. It has zero coloration like live music with plenty of detail...maybe why one review perceives this DSD as dull sounding. Is this the best sounding download out there ? I don't know...I have other albums that sound as good in their own way, but it's up there with the best. Well worth the purchase :)

This DSD download played through an Oppo BDP-105 player delivered the most refined music I have ever heard in my system. I thought I had up-grated all my components. This is the best DSD download I have and also better than any SACD I have.

This DSD is a grade above other DSD's in my collection. The sound reproduction is perfect. Closest to a live performance I have experienced yet. :)

Great Songs, great voice but..

I really like this album; love the voice and the songs. However the recording has a dullness to it. There's no openness/airiness to the presentation/instruments. Don't know if this is the way it was originally recorded or not. I have a hard time listening to it but I keep trying... just love the voice.

A 5-Star and a Must Have!

This is the very best DSD that I have found so far! For those of us in love with the female voice this recording is a must have. Through my MSB Analog DAC this recording has a 'realness' that is hard to fault. Smooth, live, full of emotion, and real, it will transport you to the recording session. Most highly recommended!
