180-gram double LP
First time vinyl reissue since the original 1978 album!
Mondo Music and WaterTower Music have partnered to launch a new line of DC Comics superhero soundtracks on vinyl including composer John Williams' iconic score from Superman: The Movie.
The soundtrack from the 1978 blockbuster film has been re-released in recent years on CD including the 40th Anniversary Remastered Edition from La-La Land Records in 2019 and the Blue Slipcase First Edition Box Set from Film Score Monthly in 2008 which featured the soundtracks from all four Christopher Reeve films. However, this will be the first time that Williams' Oscar-nominated score has been released on vinyl since the original 1978 album.
The marketing for Superman: The Movie cleverly described itself as a film that would make you "believe a man could fly," but no one involved in the film could be prepared for how that newfound belief would change the world forever. Now, nearly 43 years later, the superhero film industry shows no signs of slowing, but very few have achieved the visual and sonic miracle that the late Richard Donner and the inimitable John Williams were able to do with their epic origin story.
Featuring all new artwork by DKNG, Produced by, and featuring extensive liner notes by Michael Matessino, and pressed on 2x 180-gram black vinyl.
