Analogue Productions is proud to present Long Gone, the debut album by the sensational new rock/ blues, guitarist/ singer-songwriter Jimmy D. Lane. While the listener will hear echoes of Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan in Jimmy's playing, he is his own man, a fact recognized recently by Eric Clapton when, after playing together with Jimmy on a forthcoming tribute album to Jimmy's father, Jimmy Rogers, Clapton proclaimed Jimmy Lane an "incredible guitarist." Indeed, the strongest influence on Jimmy's musical development has been his father.

Long Gone features Jimmy Lane with bassist Freddie Crawford (also a veteran member of Jimmy Rogers band and Jimmy Lane's regular group) and legendary drummer Jim Keltner, who has performed and/or recorded with everyone from John Lennon and Bob Dylan to the Rolling Stones and Eric Clapton. Jimmy Lane's repertoire on Long Gone is made up of his own originals and covers by blues and rock greats including Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Rogers, John Lee Hooker, Muddy Waters and Albert King.

"If anyone comes by the blues honestly, it's Jimmy D. Lane... his guitar playing is powerful and "inspirational;" you may find yourself playing air guitar for the first time in years... Lane gives us an electric guitar extravaganza of a type that was abundant 25-30 years ago but is nowadays rare."
-- Larry Kay, FI Magazine

"Long Gone should move Jimmy D. Lane directly to the front ranks of those who will take the blues into the next century."
-- Jim DeKoster, Living Blues

JDL has fantastic chops, great songs, and his studio band is tight. He doesn't hold to the exact same tone for all tracks...he goes for what he feels is the appropriate sound for individual tracks. Much appreciated.

If I had to describe JDL's style -- he would be a cross between SRV and Jimi.

My foobar 2000 won't calculate the DR value on the downloaded DSF files. But JRiver will. Individual tracks range run between DR 12-15. I would bet this album as a whole would garner a 13 DR rating...for those who put stock in such things. I trust my ears.

I have listened to this several times though a high-end headphone system which includes a W4S DAC2-SE. Excellent recording. Tons of headroom, separation and tone.
